About the project
Hello, I'm Jackie Skillicorn!This independent charity was set up in 1994 to provide training opportunities to those with learning disabilities. It has since evolved and now with the support of grants offers its services to a wide range of disadvantaged people within the local community. We aim to be all inclusive regardless of age, gender or race.
All our training opportunities are tailored to individual needs and cover a broad spectrum including gardening, catering, ceramic art, ICT and packaging workshops. Our courses are accredited and non-accredited but all are aimed at improving skills, raising self-esteem and confidence and promoting interaction.

Local Food is part of the Big Lottery Fund's Changing Spaces programme which was launched in November 2005 to help communities enjoy and improve their local environments.
The programme funds a range of activities from local food schemes and farmers markets, to education projects teaching people about the local environment.
