The aim of the Local Foods Suffolk is a developing local food project which is aiming to engage with disadvantaged communities in Suffolk in the growing of local produce to promote and sustain community activity.

This three year project will reclaim an acre of derelict land in the middle of a housing estate in one of the most deprived areas in Wigan, to create a community allotment and public environmental education and advisory centre focusing on food growing, healthy eating and sustainability.

The Burrow is a new project, the permanent realisation of a temporary facility currently operating in the village hall.

Growing Kids Community Allotment has been operating since 2008 and aims to promote improved health and well-being through growing own produce, exercise, reducing obesity and reducing carbon footprint.

Phoenix Farm and learning zone was established in September 2007 and Phoenix FLAME will be an extension of this.

People Pods offer a genuinely sustainable approach to community food development.

Employment of a community team to:

Design and develop a community garden and support local people to develop their own growing spaces within their gardens. Develop a GREEN information advice and guidance centre. Recruit, train and lead a team of volunteers.
