The aim of the Local Foods Suffolk is a developing local food project which is aiming to engage with disadvantaged communities in Suffolk in the growing of local produce to promote and sustain community activity.
This three year project will reclaim an acre of derelict land in the middle of a housing estate in one of the most deprived areas in Wigan, to create a community allotment and public environmental education and advisory centre focusing on food growing, healthy eating and sustainability.
