This project will have both social and environmental objectives. It is intended to provide community allotments in perpetuity for the people of Ledbury; members will have the ability to grow affordable fruit and vegetables using organic methods. The project is also designed to raise awareness within Ledbury by providing the community as a whole with regular educational courses on a range of horticultural subjects. A vitally important part of the project is to develop an extensive horticultural education programme with 4 local primary schools. Children will have direct access to allotments, school trips to gardens offering educational merit and in-school workshops together with well managed school vegetable gardens.

Local community/charitable groups will be assisted by allotment members to help low income earners, those with disability impairments, groups who suffer social deprivation and aged living alone, by providing a range of gardening assistance.
