BTCV
BTCV is a charity set up in 1959. It has a successful history of environmental conservation volunteering throughout the UK and around the world. Its mission is to create a more sustainable future by inspiring people and improving places.
BTCV supports nearly 300,000 volunteers to take practical action to improve their urban and rural environments. This includes local volunteering opportunities such as developing community gardens and allotments, tree planting and the BTCV Green Gym which helps people improve their mental and physical health through practical conservation.
BTCV's Community Network supports around 2,000 community groups with information, advice, funding and a range of benefits including cost-effective insurance.

Big Lottery Fund
Local Food is part of the Big Lottery Fund’s Changing Spaces programme which was launched in November 2005 to help communities enjoy and improve their local environments. The programme funds a range of activities from local food schemes and farmers markets, to education projects teaching people about the local environment.
